What an incredible weekend we had!
On Sunday 21st January, The Belles of Three Spires, Coventry, had the privilege of being one of the choruses invited to assist with the 2024 director’s educational weekend for LABBS and BABS.
It was such a great experience, full of encouragement for directors and singers alike. Our own fabulous MA Lucy and Assistant MDs Ches and April enjoyed a whole weekend of coaching and presentations.
Belles chorus members joined them on Sunday for a full day of singing. We were split into two groups and had the experience of being directed by many different delegates throughout the day, who were coached on their technique. We enjoyed the individual style each director had and the different interpretations of our repertoire songs. It was so lovely to meet everyone and catch up with some familiar faces also!
The guest educator for the weekend was the amazing Theo Hicks and we had the pleasure of taking part in his Listening for the Singers Joy section at the end of the day. This was such an insightful session, allowing us to identify what it is we love most about our fabulous hobby. We learned how to tap into that feeling as we sing.
Huge thanks to the organisers LABBS and BABs and faculty for a wonderful experience. We are so excited to get back on the risers and sing together again!
